Vg. British ornithologist, F.C.R. Jourdain's copy with his name to endpaper. Rev. Francis Charles Robert Jourdain (1865-1940) was an amateur ornithologist and oologist. He founded the British Oological Association, which changed its name to the Jourdain Society following his death. He wrote many papers and a number of books on birds, most notably as co-author of Handbook of British Birds (1938-1941).
