8vo, buckram, shelf label removed from spine, original wrappers retained. Ex-lib. from an institutional library with the usual ink stamps and markings. With the signature of Kenneth Page Oakeley (1911-1981), British geologist and anthropologist, deputy keeper (Anthropology) at the Natural History Museum, London (1959-1969). Oakeley contributed to the exposure of the notorious Piltdown skull hoax.
