Description:
Text Chinese, scientific names in Latin. Compiled by the author and his team following more than a decade of field investigations and monitoring of butterfly resources in Yandang Mountain, this book combines academic rigour, scientific popularisation, readability, and ecological insight. It is also the first original ecological butterfly book produced in a nature reserve in Zhejiang Province.
This book is a systematic compilation of butterfly species in Yandang Mountain. According to the five Chinese butterfly families classification system, there are 5 families, 113 genera, and 209 species, with 482 images (including 482 ecological photos), including 3 nationally protected animals such as the Golden Swallowtail, Black Purple Gorge Butterfly, and Chinese Tiger Swallowtail. There are three national ‘Three Haves’ animal species: the broad-tailed swallowtail, the arrow-ringed butterfly, and the dead leaf mass butterfly.
Through detailed species documentation and ecological photography, this book offers an important reference for butterfly research, biodiversity conservation, nature education, and the study of Yandang Mountain's ecological resources.
