Facsimile Reprint of the 12 issues of ‘The South Polar Times’ as originally published by Captain Robert Scott's expedition team to the Antarctic during the ‘Discovery’ expedition of 1901–04, and the ‘Terra Nova’ expedition of 1910–13. All 12 issues dated, April 1902; May 1902; June 1902; July 1902; August 1902; April 1903; June 1903; August 1903; June 1911; September 1911; October 1911; June 1912.are housed in a cloth bound presentation box. Each volume contains articles, drawings, caricatures, weather reports and maps by members of Scott’s team beautifully reproduced in this collector’s edition.

Number 960 of a limited edition of 1000 copies. This facsimile edition was published in 2012 by The Folio Society in collaboration with the Royal Geographical Society and The British Library and the Scott Polar Research Institute, to mark the centenary of the death of Captain Scott and his companions.

Condition

Vg. Small white label (with letters FBIC) to rear of box. Volumes have ownership stamp of Ian Sydney Pettman (died 2016) to flyleaves, he was founder of the Pettman Organ Scholarship, at the London Oratory.
