First edition. The advertisement at the front of the publication takes care to distinguish this work from Catalogue of Scientific Serials by Samuel H. Scudder, published by Harvard University in 1879. It notes that Scudder's catalogue includes the transactions of learned societies and is organized geographically. In contrast, the present work is restricted to scientific and technical periodicals proper and is arranged alphabetically, thereby providing what it describes as “the greatest facility of reference.”
Condition
8vo, later green half morocco, rubbed, red leather title pieces to spine, orig. wrappers retained. Withdrawn from an institutional library with a few neat ink stamps. Good.
