Meyer (from Coloured Illustrations of British Birds and their Eggs) and 108 colour-printed plates by Archibald Thorburn (73), Eliza Turck (24), A.F. Lydon (3), rest unsigned, (from Swaysland's Familiar Wild Birds), interleaved throughout in the relevant sections.

Condition
4 vols, 8vo, finely bound by Bayntun in later half morocco, raised bands to spine, gilt tooling to compartments decorated in gilt with bird motifs and gilt lettering. Marbled endpapers. Top edges gilt. Some light offsetting. A very attractive set, its appeal enhanced by the 278 coloured plates.
