Adventurers Fen is close to the more famous Wicken Fen in Cambridgeshire. The fen is named after the so-called ‘Adventurers’ who commenced a drainage scheme in the 17th century. Eric Ennion (1900-1981) worked as a country doctor in this area before and during the second world war, he beautifully describes and illustrates in sepia line drawings, the life and nature of this fen.
