First edition, first printing. Illustrated with photographs by the author, drawings and four colour plates by the American ornithologist, and illustrator Louis Agassiz Fuertes (1874-1927). Frank Michler Chapman (1864-1945) was a prominent American ornithologist and writer. He served as Curator of Ornithology at the American Museum of Natural History from 1908 to 1942 and is regarded as one of the most influential ornithologists of the early twentieth century. In this work, he recalls his expeditions to Mexico, Central America, and South America between 1888 and 1932. Includes an extensive bibliography of his publications.
