Coloured plates by F.W. Frohawk (fine chromolithographs printed by Brumby & Clarke, illustrating 475 specimens, including the egg of the Great Auk). The plates were originally published in the 6-volume work, British Birds with their Nests and Eggs (1896-1898), and are here reissued with separate letterpress.
Condition
4to (289x241mm), orig. green two-tone cloth, gt, teg. Some light foxing to tissue guards, endpapers browned. Very good. Bookplate of J.E. Wightman.
