Description:
First edition. This is an important early account of the natural history of the Budongo Forest in western Uganda and its wild chimpanzees. Written by the British primatologist Vernon Reynolds, it draws on his fieldwork in the forest in 1962, when he and his wife began investigating the chimpanzees and their environment. The book combines personal observations from the field with descriptions of the forest, its wildlife and the behaviour of its chimpanzee population.
