An exceptional and unique assemblage of scholarly works by Dr. Peter J.P. Whitehead (1930-1993), a preeminent ichthyologist and former head of marine fishes at the Natural History Museum, London. Whitehead was a leading authority on clupeoids-herrings, shads, sardines, hilsa, and menhadens-whose meticulous research significantly advanced the field of fish taxonomy. Collection consists of 33 papers 1958-1972, bound in 18 plastic covers. Also 12 of papers published in the series, Bulletin of The British Museum (Natural History) Zoology in original wrappers:
