8vo, orig. cloth, gt, some wear, head of spine slightly pulled with short splits/wear to top of both joints, corners a little bumped; binding cracked between half-title and title, but still holding firm. Some occasional foxing. Book-plate of H.E. Hammond, incorporating a hawkmoth larva, and a penny black stamp (reflecting his dual interest in Lepidoptera larvae and philately). Harold Edward Hammond (1902-1963), an amateur British lepidopterist, was best known for his work on the larvae of Lepidoptera. Good.
