Text in English, Dutch and Italian. This volume completes the Fungi Europei series 5b and 5c on Entoloma sensu lato. Volume 5b was published in 2022, and this book continues the work. The species discussed here have been included in a phylogenetic study using ITS and LSU markers. Wherever possible, type collections have been sequenced; where original type material was missing or unsuitable for molecular work, we have selected neo- or epitypes. Species concepts in this volume are based on a combination of morphological, ecological, and molecular evidence. As a result, many concepts have been revised - in some cases only slightly, in others quite substantially. Several species previously considered distinct turned out to be synonyms, mostly thanks to a better understanding of morphological variation. At the same time, dozens of new species have been described - not simply by splitting existing species, but largely through exploring new habitats, particularly in northern Europe and the Mediterranean. Special attention has been given to describing habitats, as this can help separate species that are morphologically similar. All descriptions and photographs are linked to sequenced collections deposited in GenBank, and reference ITS sequences are cited for every species.
