John Guille Millais (1865-1931) was one of the most respected of British ornithologists and bird artists, renowned for his portraiture of wildfowl and game birds. He was the son of pre-Raphaelite painter, John Everett Millais and Effie Gray.

Large 4to (400x310mm), original red straight-grained half morocco, rubbed to spine ends and corners, minor wear, gt title to front board and spine. Light spotting to bottom edge. Top edge gilt. Some scattered foxing. Very good. From the library of Lloyd, 4th Lord Kenyon (1864-1927), Baron of Gredington, with his bookplate.
