Description:

Covers 308 species of the Lycaenid subtribe Polyommatina. Colour plates present set specimens of adults from collections, including many type specimens and rare species. The text includes information for each taxon: by whom, when and where it was described, type locality, distribution and taxonomic notes. The structure of the genitalia of males is described in detail, differences between closely related species are discussed. The genitalia drawings are enlarged to allow important details of the structure to be clearly distinguished. Female genitalia is briefly reviewed.
