Description:

Rare, particularly with plates hand-coloured. Latin edition (a German edition 'Abbildungen der Wanzen' was also published at the same dates). Five parts in one (complete), each with title page. Plates drawn by the author, engraved by J. Sturm. Pages i-viii precede Fasc. 5. Wolff, who was a physician, died of fever in 1806 at the age of 28. The final part, which he had already prepared, was published by his father in 1811.

Cont. blue paper-covered boards, neat repairs to head of spine and corners; orig. leather title piece to spine, speckled edges. Paper sligthly browned in places, plates clean. Vg.
