At first I thought this might be a children’s book by the look and ‘booklet’ format. I ordered it online from the Falklands Conservation organization prior to my first visit to the islands. I was impressed with the basic and well presented entomology review. The booklet is very well done and helped me to realize just how limited even the insects diversity is in the Falklands. It had me curious about the butterflies in particular. would the Frittilary larvae breed on an introduced yellow violet? What is the story on the Blue butterfly pictured and does it exhibit. The author states it was photographed only once and never collected. I would like to see that photograph. I tried to locate the author and could find no Facebook Page, e-mail or any way to contact him. the booklet is well worth the small price Nd I would rate it 5 starts out of 5.
