Information on the seasonal occurrence, habitat and distribution round off the identification aid.

In each of the species portraits, a picture of an adult is also shown. The comparison of the age groups makes it possible to recognize the peculiarities of the juvenile stages.

German summary: Dieses neue Bestimmungsbuch präsentiert die Jugendstadien aller 109 in der Schweiz vorkommenden Heuschreckenarten. Die Nymphenstadien sind von besonderem faunistischem Interesse. Dieser Feldführer hilft dem Beobachter, die Jugendstadien im Lebensraum nach Art und Alter zu bestimmen. Jede Art wird mit mehreren Farbfotos zu den Entwicklungsstadien vorgestellt, die Beschreibung wesentlicher Merkmale ergänzt die Abbildungen. Angaben zum jahreszeitlichen Auftreten, zum Lebensraum und zur Verbreitung runden die Bestimmungshilfe ab. In den Artporträts wird jeweils auch das Bild eines ausgewachsenen Artgenossen gezeigt.
