8vo, later buckram, rubbed; tape marks to endpaper/title; fore edge thumbed. A well used copy, with copious marginal annotations to text and with a number of sheets of notes or diagrams tipped in. H. Munro Fox's copy with his signature to title. Harold Munro Fox FRS (1889-1967) was a British zoologist. His research focused on marine invertebrates such as ostracod crustacea. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1937 and won the society's Darwin Medal in 1966.
