An early contribution to the developing field of environmental data analysis, bringing together statistical and graphical methods specifically applicable to environmental monitoring and assessment. Published at a time when automated sampling, computerised analytical techniques and remote sensing were producing rapidly increasing quantities of environmental data, the work addresses the problem of converting such raw observations into scientifically useful information.
