Text Chinese, scientific names in Latin. A comprehensive systematic treatment of the larger moths (Macrolepidoptera) of the Nanling Mountains, southern China, a region of exceptional biodiversity extending across Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan and Jiangxi provinces.

Based on extensive field surveys, examination of specimens and published literature, the work documents 892 species in 368 genera, 11 families and four superfamilies: Drepanoidea, Lasiocampoidea, Bombycoidea and Geometroidea. The families treated are Drepanidae, Lasiocampidae, Eupterotidae, Brahmaeidae, Endromidae, Bombycidae, Saturniidae, Sphingidae, Epicopeiidae, Uraniidae and Geometridae. Species accounts include bibliographical references, diagnostic morphological characters, details of specimens examined, host associations and geographical distributions. Illustrated with 16 colour plates depicting adults of selected species. Includes bibliographical references and indexes to Chinese and scientific names.
