This copy has a pencil sketch (250x170mm) of a golden eagle in flight, signed and dated by the artist.
John Busby was born in Yorkshire. He studied at Leeds and Edinburgh Colleges of Art and taught drawing and painting at Edinburgh College of Art from 1956-1988. His paintings include wildlife subject matter as well as large landscape and abstract paintings. He has illustrated many ornithological books. This book contains over 80 drawings reproduced actual size to an exceptionally high standard; the artist's handwritten comments accompany the drawings.

4to (274x270mm), orig. green half morroco, marbled boards, gt., in green cloth slipcase and with orig. (?) plain paper dust jacket. Fine.
