Originally published in 4 vols listing generic names published up until the end of 1935. Vol. 5 and 6 act as supplements, extending coverage to 1945 and 1955 respectively. (Vol. 6 edited by Marcia A. Edwards & A. Tindell Hopwood). A further two supplementary volumes were also published (not present here)
