'This report deals with the non-marine mollusks of Tierra del Fuego and Patagonia as far north as the thirty-ninth parallel, where Rio Negro Valley forms a transition region .... The scope of the work has been extended to include some account of all the South American forms of certain little-know families, such as the Amnicolidae and Sphaeridae, and all of the Chilinidae occurring east of the Andes. Finally, the relationships of the South American molluscan fauna with the faunas of other continents are considered.' Fine lithographic plates (including plain and chromolithographs) by F.v. Iterson and Helen Hutchinson, printed by Winter & Werner, Frankfurt, and Cockayne, Boston, respectiveley. (Plates numbered: XXXVIII-XL, XLI, XLIA-C, XLII, XLIII, XLIIIA, XLIV-XLVI, XLVIA, XLVII).
