Georgia Totto O'Keeffe (1887-1986) was an American modernist painter described by Nicholas Callaway as 'the greatest painter of flowers in the history of Western art'. During her life she produced over two hundred flower paintings, most created between 1918-1932. Her paintings of giant flowers, which many found sensual, caused a sensation.
