Text Japanese. Selections from the coloured woodblock prints of the orchid collection grown at Tennozan Oyamazaki Sanso (Mountain Lodge) of Mr. Shotaro Kaga (1888-1954). Kaga, a successful business man and founder of Nikka Whiskey Co. (now Asahi Beer Co.), was a dedicated orchid lover who brought many new species to Japan, and had them planted at his mountain villa. The Rankafu prints are considered masterworks of botanical art. Kaga employed the finest artists, carvers, printers and materials to create this stunning record.
