Edmund Brisco Ford (1901-1988) was a British geneticist and lepidopterist, who helped develop and define the field of ecological genetics. His academic career was based entirely at the University of Oxford, where he became professor of ecological genetics (1963-1969). Among his many publications were two volumes in the New Naturalist series - No. 1: Butterflies (1945) and No. 30: Moths (1955).
