Description:

Text Chinese, scientific names in Latin. This is the third volume in the Gansu Province Sawfly Fauna Taxonomic Research Series. It briefly introduces Gansu Province's natural geography and characteristics and systematically organises the history of sawfly taxonomic research in the province. Based on over 20 years of special surveys and sample collection of sawfly faunas in Gansu Province, a total of 738 species of sawflies from 12 families, 173 genera, and 738 species have been recorded, with detailed reports and descriptions of 248 species, including 3 new genera, 1 new subgenera, 203 new species, and 4 new subspecies. Reports include 4 new genera recorded in China, 37 genera in Gansu, and 39 new species in Gansu. Three new synonyms and nine new combinations have been established, and one valid species has been restored. All new genera and species are provided with detailed morphological descriptions and important morphological feature maps, with new recorded species from China and Gansu providing collection records. This book compiles a catalogue of sawfly species in Gansu and provides concise family, genus, and species search tables to facilitate readers in identifying sawfly species in Gansu. At the end of the book, there are main references, indexes of Chinese names, indexes of scientific names, images of new adult species, and important morphological feature maps. This book can serve as research material for entomology, biodiversity conservation, and biogeography studies, and is also suitable for professionals in agriculture, forestry, environmental protection, and biodiversity conservation fields.
