Description:

The editor, Sir Benjamin Simpson (1831-1923) was a British Surgeon-General and photographer who served in the Indian Medical Service Bengal from 1853 until 1890. Besides papers by a number of authors, these volumes include 11 papers by David Douglas Cunningham (1843-1914) a Scottish doctor and researcher who worked extensively in India in the field of public health and medicine. He conducted pioneering studies in aerobiology, studying the spread of bacteria and spores of fungi through the air and conducted research on cholera.

Condition

4 vols, 4to, cloth-backed printed boards, worn; several bindings broken with boards/sections of pages loose. Pt I: paper browned; Pt II: some light water staining to several pages/plates. From an instutional library with a few neat ink stamps.
