Description:
Michael Warren (born 1938) is a British wildlife artist and long-standing member of the Society of Wildlife Artists, specialising in birds observed and sketched in their natural habitats. Shorelines, his first book was the first substantial published collection of his paintings. Warren travelled from the coasts of Caithness and Portugal to Maine and Florida in search of his subjects, while also depicting freshwater habitats in the Scottish Highlands and the Trent Valley. His paintings are notable not simply for their ornithological accuracy but for their strongly composed treatment of birds within landscape, particularly the patterns, reflections and changing surfaces of water.
