8vo, orig. blue cloth, bevelled boards, rubbed, some wear, gt design of the ship Lymphad to front board, rebacked with orig. backstrip (darkend to brown) laid down. Ink smudge to half-title, foxing to title-page. Loosely inserted, 'The Vegetation of St. Kilda in 1948' by M.E.D. Poore and V.C. Robertson, Journal of Ecology, Vol.37, 1949. Also five newspaper clippings concerning St.Kilda, includes one from the Times, dated August 29, 1930 with a report by Alasdair Alpin MacGregor, recording the final removal of residents from the Island and another from the Sunday Times, 31st August 1980 reporting on an emotional return visit by elderly residents.
