Very rare. A complete set of the insect section of Hemprich & Ehrenberg's work, issued in 5 parts, each consisting of 10 plates with accompanying text leaves. The text to the insect parts is by Johann Christoph Friedrich Klug (1775-1856)

Condition
In five portfolios with linen ties (some minor wear, with repairs to several backstrips; a few ties frayed or lacking) . Parts 1-4 were issued in printed portfolios with linen ties; part 5 (published 11 years after part 4) in a wrapper in the same style, which has here been mounted on card to match the first 4. An exceptional set in the original portfolios and completely uncut. Occasional light foxing to text, plates clean.
