Description:
Being a Discourse of Rivers Fishponds, Fish and Fishing not unworthy the Perusal of most Anglers. First published in 1653. Four further editioins were made during the author's lifetime, the fifth edition of 1676 being the last to be revised by the author. This edition follows the 1931 edition published by George G. Harrap & Co. Ltd, with illustrations by Arthur Rackham. The text of the 1931 edition in turn follows that of the 1897 edition edited by Richard Le Gallienne and pbulished by John Lane, The Bodley Head Ltd, in which the text of the fifth edition was used, but the spelling was modernised. Introduction by Henry Williamson.

8vo (250x190mm), orig. green cloth, gt dec to front cover and spine, top edge gilt. Fine in vg slip case (a few minor marks).
