A rare long run of this important entomological journal, from Vol. 1 (1890), complete up to Vol. 124 (2012). The journal was founded by the famous Lepidopterist J.W. Tutt, who was the first editor, from 1890 until his death in January 1911. It has been published without a break ever since. The journal is largely concerned with Lepidoptera (Butterflies and Moths). Paul Sokoloff, from whose library this set comes, was himself editor of the Entomologist's Record between 1985 and 1995 (Vols 85-95). Other notable editors include J.M. Chalmers-Hunt and S.N.A. Jacobs.

124 vols, 8vo: Vols 1-122 bound in 91, various styles - Vols 1-8, 14-16, cont. half calf (Vols 1-8 uniform), some wear, Vol. 1 rebacked preserving original spine; Vols 9-13, 17-22, 24, cont. cloth, various styles; Vols 23, 25-122, uniformly bound in recent cloth, leather title-piece to spines; the final two vols, 123-124, loose in wrappers, as published, contained in a matching slipcase. All indexes present. Duplicate set of Indexes for Vols 72-96 (1960-1984) bound together in matching cloth volume. Original wrappers retained for Vols 23 onwards. A few volumes bound upsidedown. Occasional annotations to text. Ex-libris Paul Sokoloff (1948-2012), with his bookplate.
