Fourth impression (first published 1953). With the uncommon red publisher's promotional band (obi) announcing the award of the 1973 Nobel Prize to Niko Tinbergen. Tinbergen shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Karl von Frisch and Konrad Lorenz for their work on animal behaviour. The band was added to copies sold following the award and is now rarely found.
