First edition, issued to mark the Centenary celebration in 1907 of the Geological Society.

Condition

8vo, orig. cloth, minor wear, shelf label removed from spine. Binding cracked in couple places, but holding firm. Ex-lib. from an institutional library with several stamps. Book-plate of James Marmaduke Edmonds (1909-1982), British geologist, who served as Graduate Assistant in the Department of Geology 1946-1965, and Curator of the Geological Collections of the Museum at Oxford between 1955-1976; he was also the founder of the Oxford Geology Group. Also, book-plate and cont. signature of James Berry.
