John Guille Millais (1865-1931) was one of the most respected of British ornithologists and bird artists, renowned for his portraiture of wildfowl and game birds. He was the son of pre-Raphaelite painter, John Everett Millais and Effie Gray.

Folio (420x320mm), original cloth, minor rubbing, gilt title, spine faded. Top edge gilt. Endpapers lightly browned; some scattered foxing, heavier to one page. Very good. From the library of Lloyd, 4th lord Kenyon (1864 - 1927), Baron of Gredington, with his bookplates.
