First edition. Scarce. Five plates depict landscapes, or rural scenes and are printed in colour by Hulmandel & Walton; remaining lithographic plates printed by W. West, one, hand-coloured, of a 'Red-eyed Flycatcher', by Joseph Wolf. Publisher's catalogue at rear dated January, 1863.

Imp. 8vo (264x175mm), orig. cloth, minor wear to head/foot of spine, gilt title to spine. A little light foxing to prelims, blank recto of frontispiece, and occasionally to plate margins. Very good. Armorial bookplate of James Lovatt.
