Frederick Vincent Theobald (1868-1930 ) was a British economic zoologist and entomologist. ‘Plant Lice or Aphididae of Great Britain’ was the first major work to be published on British Aphids following Buckton’s ‘Monograph of British Aphides’ (1875-1884). Theobald states in the preface ‘During the past twenty-six years I have been purposely collecting Aphides in the British Isles and for some years before had been casually collecting them’.
