Title page inscribed by William Bernhardt Tegetmeier (1816 –1912) was an English naturalist, a popular writer and journalist of domestic science. He was a correspondent and friend of Charles Darwin, Tegetmeier's studies on pigeon breeding and the honeybees were influential on Darwin’s theories.
