Description:
Duncan M'Intosh was Chief Steward on the S.S. Metagama a transatlantic ocean liner, operated by the Canadian Pacific Steamship Company. S.S. Metagama and her sister ship were pioneers in a new concept of passenger accommodation, in which there was no first class or second class but only a "cabin class". A delightful collection of poems, composed between 1902 and 1922 covering a wide range of subjects, many relating to his experiences at sea and deep Christian faith. The author states 'Most of the words came to me when I was tossed about on the angry billows'.
