Description:
An authoritative mid-twentieth-century monograph on the Trematoda, or parasitic flukes. Dawes brought together a widely dispersed literature to provide a comprehensive account of their morphology, classification, biology and complex life cycles, with particular emphasis on British and other European forms. The work became a standard reference for zoologists and parasitologists and did much to establish its author’s international reputation as a helminthologist. Ben Dawes (1902-1976) was a distinguished British zoologist and parasitologist and later Professor of Parasitology at King’s College London.
