A charming record of photographs of wildlife (mostly birds) taken during the early part of the 20th century by the Scottish naturalist, photographer and folklorist Seton Gordon (1886-1977) and his wife in the Scottish Highlands. The Introduction states that 'The first edition of this book was entirely destroyed by the great fire in the City of London due to enemy action in 1941'.
