8vo, cont. half calf, rebacked, raised bands and leather title piece to spine, marbled boards, edges and endpapers. Orig. silk bookmark still present. Vg. Provenance: Bookplate of Edward Machen (1783-1862), 'the first modern woodland manager'. Machen became the longest serving Deputy Surveyor of the Forest of Dean (1808-1854), and had a significant impact upon the landscape structure of the Forest.
