Description:

1st edition. L. Hugh Newman (1909-1993) was one of the most distinguished butterfly farmers in the UK. His father, Leonard Newman, was an acknowledged entomologist, started Britain's first butterfly farm, in 1894 at Bexley, Kent, which in due course he passed on to his son. Hugh Newman provided researchers, collectors and garden lovers with butterflies.
