Published as a supplement to Curtis's Botanical Magazine. Contains portraits, accompanied by biographical notes, of the eminent botanists and horticulturalists to whom volumes of the Botanical Magazine had been dedicated over the period 1827-1927.

Condition

Roy. 8vo, orig. brown, cloth, decorative blind-stamped design to boards, minor wear to extremities. Very good fron an institutional library: 'The North Devon Atheneum, Barnstaple', with book-plate and ink stamps to title and blank verso of all portraits; a few red pencil markings to the List of Portraits at rear, otherwise little used. From the library of Prof. J. Green (1928-2016) with his name to endpaper.
