Description:

Scarce first edition. A biography of the Manchester industrialist and printer Edmund Potter (1802-1883), who developed processes for mechanising printing on calico cloth. His factory at the Dinting Vale Printworks was the largest calico printer in the world. He was also the grandfather of the author Beatrix Potter.

Condition

8vo, orig. cloth, spine and edges of boards slightly faded. Endpapers browned/spotted. Previous owners' names to endpaper and half-title. Vg.
