Vol.I: Text. Volume II: Illustrations. 2nd Printing. William King Gregory (1876 -1970) was an American zoologist, known as a primatologist, paleontologist, and comparative morphologist. He was an expert on mammalian dentition, and a leading contributor to theories of evolution. His work charted the evolution from the early fishes through the various branches to birds and mammals. His two major works were ‘Our Face from Fish to Man’ published n 1929 and the work, offered here, ‘Evolution Emerging’ first published in 1951.

Orig. cloth in slipcase. Vg. From the library of Prof. A.J.E. Cave (1900-2001) with his signature to the front endpapers, together with the stamp of the Anatomy Department of St. Bartholomew's Hospital where he worked.
