Brooke Bond & Company started to include illustrated cards in packets of their teas and tins of coffee, from 1954 until 1999. These collectable cards were issued in themed series (often with 50 cards per series) which could be pasted into an informative illustrated Album. This marketing product was 'offered in the interests of education'. Illustrators included notable artists such as the famous natural history artist Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe (1901-1979). Most of the early series covered natural history subjects.
