Description:

First English edition. Complete in 2 vols. Scarce. 'This German expedition explored the heavily forested region between Lake Victoria and Lake Kivu. The first three chapters, penned by Capt. von Wiese und Kaiserswaldau, describe the journey from the Congo to the Shari River with attendant hunting after elephant. The Duke continued with his travels in the region of Lake Chad with sport after buffalo, antelope and rhinoceros. After tramping through the Congo, the expedition neared the White Nile where elephants were collected. The photographs and colored plates are especially attractive.' (Czech).
